Copper Smokey Eyes (Early Fall Makeup Look)

I pulled out my Morphe 35O palette to create this smokey copper makeup look! I love the way it turned out and it has me feeling so excited for Fall!

Keep scrolling for a full list of the products I used to create this whole look.

EYES:

  • Primed my lids with the Tarte Shape Tape concealer
  • Used a light brown shade from the Morphe palette as my transition shade
  • Deepened the crease with Colourpop shadow in Paradox (matte cranberry shade)
  • Deepened the outer corners with Makeup Geek shadow in Bitten (deep red shade)
  • Applied a metallic copper shade from the Morphe 35O palette to the inner half of my lids (shade on the very bottom right corner of the palette)
  • Added a dark brown shade to the outer corners to add more depth to the eyes.
  • I brought the same Paradox, Bitten, and metallic copper shadows down to my lower lashline and smoked it out.
  • Applied one coat of Maybelline Colossal mascara to my top and bottom lashes.
  • Applied a pair of the Kiss Blooming lashes.

FACE:

  • Covergirl Vitalist Healthy Elixir Foundation
  • Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer
  • Set my concealer and face with the new Maybelline Fit Me loose setting powder
  • Contoured using shade Fawn from the ABH Contour Kit

  • Gives skin a naturally glowing finish
  • 14 shades
  • Lightweight formula

My review:

After trying this foundation out for about a week, I can truly say that I love it! I was nervous to try it at first because it does have a luminous finish and I have combo skin, but this did not leave me too greasy at the end of an 8-hour wear time. If you are very oily, I do recommend using a mattifying primer underneath and definitely setting the foundation. Since I have combo skin (oily T-Zone), I find that using a more mattifying foundation in the center of my face and the Covergirl one on the perimeter of my face gives my skin a flawless look.

The coverage is definitely medium to full and no matter how much I build it up, it never looks cakey on my skin. To me, this foundation is comparable to the Too Faced Born This Way foundation because it has a similar finish and coverage. It looks like my skin but better! I was able to find my perfect shade (buff beige, I believe) and it does not oxidize on me. It does have a slightly warmer undertone, but I just blend it down my neck a little and that does the trick.

On the downside, I still need to set this foundation with a powder because it does dry down kind of tacky, but this isn’t really a huge draw back for me personally. Once again, if you have oily skin and really want to try this foundation, I think it could still work for you as long as you prime and set your face.

Overall I love the versatility of this foundation. I like how I can wear it on light and fuller coverage makeup days while still benefitting from the added antioxidants and lightweight feel. I have not been able to put this product down since I bought it!
