MOTD: Purple & Rose Gold + Bright Winged Liner

I love pairing purple and rose gold together on the eyes and adding a pop of bright blue liner really brings this look to life! Keep scrolling to see more pics and a full list of products I used to create the full look.

EYES

  • Applied Colourpop’s Super Shock Shadow in the shade “Bill” as a transition shade.
  • Applied the light purple shade from the Carli Bybel x BH Cosmetics Deluxe Edition palette in the crease and then the darker purple shade from the palette in the outer corner to deepen the look.
  • I used a couple of purple shades from the Morphe 35B palette to add more dimension to the eyes, but just sticking with a medium and dark purple shadow will work.
  • I applied the Colourpop Super Shock Shadow in “LaLa” to the inner half of my eyes.
  • Used the Urban Decay eyeshadow in “Midnight Cowboy” to the inner corners of my eyes. I brought this shade down to the inner part of my lower lashline as well.
  • I used the same medium and deep purple shades from the Carli Bybel palette on the lower lashline as well.
  • I used the Wet N Wild liquid eyeliner in Voltage Blue and created a wing.
  • Applied a coat of the Maybelline Colossal volumizing mascara to my top and bottom lashline, then applied a pair of the Ardell Demi Whispies

FACE

  • For foundation I used the Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 Hour foundation in the shade true beige. This was a shade too dark for me, so I mixed a little bit of my NYX white foundation mixer in with the foundation to create a perfect shade.
  • I used the Maybelline Age Rewind concealer and Maybelline Fit Me concealer under my eyes to brighten/ cover up any darkness.
  • I contoured/ bronzed using the cream contour shade from the Tarte Tarteist Pro Glow palette and set this using the contour shade from the Wet N Wild contour/highlighting duo in Dulce De Leche.
  • For blush I used the L.A. Girl matte blush in “Just Natural”
  • Highlighted using the Maybelline Master Chrome highlighter in Molten Gold

BROWS & LIPS

  • To fill in my brows I used the Skone Cosmetics brow pencil
  • My lippie is the Elf Matte Lip Color in shade Scarlet Night

Hot Products of the Week!

Since I didn’t post a hot Product last week, I decided to talk about two that I have been loving this week AND they are extremely inexpensive!

The first product I have been loving is the Coverall Cream Foundation from Wet N Wild. I got this for $4 from my local drugstore and because of the low price, I was kind of afraid to try this foundation because I was worried that it would make me break out or just look unflattering on the skin. But, I was pleasantly surprised by how beautiful this foundation looks and that it didn’t bother my skin at all! It has a natural matte finish and gives a good medium coverage, but it is buildable. The consistency is pretty thick, (if you tilt your hand it won’t run down), so I was expecting this to be really heavy and cakey, but it actually blends out really nicely. If you don’t want to spend a lot of money on a high end foundation, or even a L’Oreal foundation, this one is less than $5 and is a fanatastic product.

The next product I have been loving this week is the Essence I Love Extreme Volume mascara (waterproof). This mascara is really great if you want to add natural-looking volume to your lashes and it can also work as a lengething mascara as well. It does not make your lashes look clumpy, doesn’t flake, and holds the curl really well. Even though it is a waterproof formula, it comes off pretty easily with a makeup removing oil. This mascara is great and the fact that it’s less than $5 makes it even better!

Colorful MOTD feat. the Morphe 35b Palette

The Morphe 35b palette is the perfect palette for anyone who loves creating bright, fun eye looks and experimenting with color!

This palette is not a new product or anything, but I was so excited to add this to my makeup collection and create so many fun looks out of it, starting with today’s.

Today’s makeup look was also inspired by makeup artist, Linda Hallberg. She is by far the person I go to when I need some makeup inspiration. Her work is absolutely amazing and so different from any other makeup artist that I follow.

For my recreation of this look, I used a more toned down glitter in the inner corner and added a little bit on the outer corner of the eye as well. Linda used a deep plum lip color and I decided to use a brighter shade to add another pop of color.

  • To conceal/brighten the under eyes and t-zone, I used the Maybelline Fit Me concealer
  • I set the concealer with the NYC loose translucent powder
  • I contoured my face using the Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer.
  • For blush, I used the tarte Amazonian Clay Matte Blush in shade Exposed. I wanted to keep the blush very neutral and toned down to keep the focus on the eyes and lips.

Eyes

  • Primed my eyes using the Wet N Wild PhotoFocus eye primer.
  • I set the lid and brow bone area with the white eyeshadow from the palette.
  • I used the lighter red shade in the crease as the tradition shade, then went in with the true red shade and packed this all over my lid and blended it into the crease, winging it out as well. I kept packing on this shade to intensify the color.
  • For the bottom lashline, I smoked out the hot pink shade, then smudged the medium purple shade closer to my bottom lashline.
  • I created a winged liner using the Wet N Wild liquid eyeliner in Voltage Blue.
  • I added some gold pressed glitter from Wet N Wild to the inner and outer corners of my eyes.

Brows & Lips

  • I filled in my brows using the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in Medium Brown.
  • I only used one product for the lips, Maybelline lipstick in Violet Vixen from their Bolds collection.

Cranberry & Gold Halo Eyes

Check out my Instagram @marinaleebeauty to see a quick tutorial on how I created this gorgeous fall eye look!

For my eyes, I used the Colourpop Super Shock Shadows in Central Perk (crease), Drift (inner and outer corners), and KathleenLights (center). For my lips, I lined them using the Rimmel lip liner in Natural then filled them in using the Colourpop Satin Matte lipstick in Too Lips. Lastly, I just dabbed a little bit of the Wet N Wild ColorIcon lipgloss in the shade Ring My Bellbottoms (this is from their new limited edition fall collection).

Cobalt Blue Smokey Eye + Deep Red Lip: Makeup Inspired by Kim Kardashian

I am so obsessed with this makeup that Mario Dedivanovic did on Kim Kardashian about a year ago (yes I know I’m a little late, but I saw a picture of it again recently and was feeling inspired!). I was inspired to recreate this look since it is very bold and perfect for fall if you want to step outside the box of typical warm toned shades.

Greensmoke: Fall Makeup Look

I have another Fall inspired makeup look for y’all today! Typically Fall makeup consists of a warm eyeshadow looks and deep vampy lips, but I wanted to mix it up and add a subtle hint of color. The focus of this makeup look revolves around the MAC eyeshadow in the shade Greensmoke. It is a gorgeous mossy green shade with gold reflects that I think goes perfectly with a mauve lip color.

Cobalt Blue Winged Liner: Makeup Look

I’m baaaack! It has been quite a while since my last post because I have been so busy with school just starting, but I really missed creating makeup looks! So, I decided to come back with something bold and colorful (I even applied false lashes, which is something I really never do with my typical makeup looks). Even though summer is coming to an end, I really wanted to do something vibrant AND, I am trying out a new foundation.

Products Used:

Eyes

  • I primed my lids with the same concealer I used for under my eyes and set it with a translucent powder.
  • I used the light and deeper pink shades from my Wet N Wild “Poster Child” eyeshadow palette in the crease. I used the lighter pink shade as my transition shade and then deepened it up with the deeper pink shade. I applied the same deeper pink shade to my bottom lashline as well. Side note: the Wet N Wild crease brush has been my go-to crease brush recently. It is extremely soft and blends shadows like a dream. Also, it is only $1!
  • I applied the L’Oreal Infallible eyeshadow in the shade Amber Rush all over my lid.
  • For the star of the show- the cobalt blue liner- I used the Wet N Wild liquid liner in the color Voltage Blue. This eyeliner is so pretty and dries down completely matte. It is also very easy to apply and not streaky at all.
  • I applied one coat of my Jordana Best Lash mascara to my top and bottom lashes and then applied a pair of falsies to my top lashes. The ones that I used are from Ardell (I think, they are from the drugstore) in the Andrea style. I typically do not wear false lashes because personally I think they are too dramatic for everyday, but these look so natural and I have been wearing them a lot!

Face

  • I primed my face using the Murad Oil Control Mattifier.
  • The foundation I used is a new one I am trying out- the Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer in the shade Cream Whip (I will post a full first impressions/ review of this foundation tomorrow!). I applied it using a Real Techniques sponge.
  • For concealer, I used the Wet N Wild Come Correct celebrity concealer in the shade medium. I applied this under my eyes and on other high points of my face.
  • I set my concealer with the RCMA no color powder and the rest of my face with the Maybelline Better Skin pressed powder.
  • I contoured using the Wet N Wild contour palette in shade Dulce De Leche and bronzed using the Milani Baked Bronzer in shade Soleil.
  • For blush I used the Milani Rose Blush in shade Tea Rose.
  • My highlight is Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop. This highlight goes with L’Oreal Amber Rush beautifully!
  • I set my makeup with the Mario Badescu Rosewater facial spray.

Brows & Lips

  • For brows I used my L’Oreal Brow Stylist Definer is shade Dark Brunette and set them with a clear brow gel from Wet N Wild.
  • For lips, I just applied the NYX Mega Shine lipgloss in Frosted Beige for a metallic glossy look.

Hidden Gem At the Drugstore: Wet N Wild Concealer

Wet N Wild has quickly become one of my favorite drugstore brands and their Come Correct celebrity concealer ($5) is a product that definitely deserves more hype. I have mentioned this concealer on my blog a couple of times before, but it is so good that I just wanted to dedicate a whole post to it. Originally this was part of the Fergie line, but it seems like they just adjusted the packaging to fit in with their permanent products.

wet n wild conealer

Pros:

This concealer is FULL COVERAGE. I typically do not go for full coverage concealers because they can be hard to blend out and too unnatural-looking, but I love this one! It will not crease on you as long as you set it with a powder after, but I do this with any concealer anyway. A little bit goes a long way and it blends out quite easily- especially if you use a damp beauty sponge, which is how I would recommend blending out this product. This concealer is also a great dupe for the It Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye concealer, so that is also a good thing to know!

Cons:

The only downside to this product is that it does not come in a wide variety of shades. At my drugstore, I was only able to find shades light and medium beige (I got the medium shade, of course) and the medium shade is still on the lighter side. Online, there is another shade called medium golden, but it still looks to be too light if you have a deeper skin tone. Also, the three shades are for the most part on the warmer/ yellow side (except the fair shade) so that is also something to consider.

Overall, this is another Wet N Wild win in my makeup collection!
